1. The Green Belt Movement (GBM)
The Green Belt Movement (GBM) is one of the leading NGOs working for environmental protection in Africa. Established in 1977 by Nobel Peace Prize winner the late Prof. Wangari Mathai, GBM focuses on improving community livelihood and protecting the environment.
