Is Sidewalk Chalk Bad for the Environment?

Sidewalk chalk shows at every charity run, music festival, chalk art, and community event. It’s a fun way to express yourself and is practically disposable and biodegradable.   • If you’re eating food while using chalk, keep some paper towels around to wipe your hands after using the chalk.
  • Use dustless chalk when possible for increased safety.  

Sidewalk chalk is relatively non-toxic, and its main ingredient is biodegradable, so is sidewalk chalk bad for the environment? Yes, because sometimes it contains other non-biodegradable ingredients.

And when we leave behind the residue after using. Since rainwater will rinse away these residues from our sewages and straight into local streams and rivers, altering water quality and harming aquatic organisms, this is how it affects our environment.
